Own The Conversation - Issue 57
Featured jobs from bot-jobs.com, Conversational AI news and Events
Colleagues,
What a week this has been.
How wonderful to be back in the room at an in-person event - The European Chatbot and Conversational AI Summit.
It was fantastic to meet so many of my connections in real life, have some incredible conversations, share in the wonders of Scotland and Edinburgh and collaborate in learning more about our fantastic industry.
I don’t think I have to say much more after the outpouring of superb reviews that have been all over LinkedIn since.
In my last issue, I asked a question that’s been bugging me for a while. Do people have a budget for personal development? The results were interesting:
So, a third with no budget to put towards personal development and just over a quarter expense this through their employer.
Here’s my quick take - employers need to either offer this or educate on the availability of a personal development expense. It could be a game changer from an employer branding perspective.
In the meantime, we need to ensure that opportunities for personal development are accessible to those with no budget to ensure that everybody gets their fair chance.
And if you are coming here off the back of a social share, or stumbled across it accidentally and think it’s something you need to be subscribed to (why wouldn’t you!?!) then feel free to subscribe here:
Without further ado, let’s move on to the juicy stuff!

Nice points about personal development. For many though, an income is the top priority over perks like employer paid training.
