Own The Conversation - Issue 65
Featured jobs from bot-jobs.com, Conversational AI career enhancing content and events to attend.
Hello there!
Well, after a well-earned break things have been busy! So busy, in fact, that I’ve not had the time to give this newsletter the focus it deserves. And shame on me!
But I am back and after a couple of weeks of silence, we’ve got plenty to get through.
Firstly, I am excited to have launched a sister newsletter, which is focussed more on Conversational AI in recruitment and supports my other side of life - pplbots. So, if you’re interested in getting on the subscriber list for this, then head on over to pplbots.com and subscribe.
Anyway, let’s get on with things.
If you think your connections would benefit from subscribing to this newsletter, feel free to share it.
Exciting News I now own the Meetup group called Chatbots & Conversation Design (literally owning the conversation!)
While I try to work out what to do with it and what amazing meetups and events to create, why not join the group to ensure that you're the first to hear.
And if you are coming here off the back of a social share, or stumbled across it accidentally and think it’s something you need to be subscribed to (why wouldn’t you!?!) then feel free to subscribe here:
So, without further ado, let's dive in and Own The Conversation!
To another great week ahead,
Martyn

Latest Blogs and Content
I had fun with this first blog. How many of you tell your friends and family that you work with chatbots and the first thing they say is “Ugh, I hate it when a chatbot pops up”? Here’s a handy guide for how to deal with those situations:
As a treat, you’ve got a second blog in this edition. There’s been a lot of talk recently about how important continuous learning is in our profession, so I wanted to reflect on that here. Enjoy!

End Notes
I wanted to end this week’s edition with my analysis of a poll I’ve been running on LinkedIn this week:
Quite a decent response to this from across my network of Recruiters, People Professionals and Conversational AI professionals.
So what can we assume? Well, looking at the results, over half of the respondents feel more positive towards chatGPT et al. I think this has everything to do with using it for 6-months now and getting more used to what it is/is not and what it can/cannot do. The more comfortable we are with a piece of technology the more positive we are towards it. Of course, the fact that it has a conversational interface would absolutely create a more positive sentiment 😁
On the flip side, a small number of people feel more negative towards it. Why? Well from some of the comments I have received, some feel it’s manipulative, some do not trust it as it gives different answers every time to the same question and some just don’t understand how it fits into their working life.
Exciting times ahead!
As always, if you want to add anything into the next newsletter (events/jobs etc.) then feel free to DM me on LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram or even TikTok
Here’s hoping you have a great week.
Yours in AI,
Martyn
