Own The Conversation - Issue 69
Mega newsletter - new content categories, featured roles, events and more.
Happy Sunday to you all!
Well, this is it, dear readers. There is loads going on in today’s newsletter, so buckle up and get ready to take it all in. One of the highlights is the launch of a new initiative - Conversational Chronicles. See further down for more information.
For those of you in the UK, I hope you are enjoying the summer weather as much as I am.
Just as a reminder, there’s a heatwave across the vast majority of Europe. Another thing that we can blame on Brexit?
As a reminder, Bot Jobs is a proud sponsor of the upcoming Unparsed conference. I’ll be on hand to help you in your job search or hiring during the two days. Got a question about your CV or Portfolio? Come and find me. Hirers - any questions about the best recruitment processes? Come and find me.
We’ve also got some exciting plans to help connect hirers and job seekers at the conference, which has never been done before. Nothing like getting back to IRL events to help connect people on a whole different level!
So anyway, let’s get on with things.
If you think your connections would benefit from subscribing to this newsletter, feel free to share it.
And if you are coming here off the back of a social share, or stumbled across it accidentally and think it’s something you need to be subscribed to (why wouldn’t you!?!) then feel free to subscribe here:
So, without further ado, let's dive in and Own The Conversation!
To another great week ahead,
Martyn

Jobs
There are now three ways that I help connect job seekers to opportunities, and employers to Conversational AI professionals:
Bot Jobs… The original and largest job board dedicated to Conversational AI roles, globally. Register for job alerts and get the latest jobs straight into your inbox daily or weekly. Remember, readers of this newsletter get their first posting for free using “FIRST1FREE”.
Bot Jobs Talent Pool… Employers, by getting access to the Talent Pool, can get direct access to candidates without the hassle of advertising and screening applications. If you’re in the market for a new role, or even a conversation, then make sure your profile is up to date and that you turn on the “Display my profile to employers” option on your profile.
Bot Jobs Freelancers… As a freelancer, by joining us, you can not only showcase your skills with your free portfolio builder but also connect with businesses that value your expertise.
As a business member, you get to tap into a pool of talented freelancers ready to bring their unique perspectives to your projects. Plus, leave the hassles of administrative tasks to us - we'll handle the systems, processes, and payments, letting you focus on what you do best: creating and innovating.

Latest Blogs and Content
Last week’s blog was about showcasing your skills during a skills-based assessment when going through the job application process.
I’m switching gears this week, as we start to think about slowing things down for the summer period. How do we, as Conversation Designers, take advantage of this slowdown:
Now, this is exciting! Not one blog this week, but two. This week, we’re also hearing from our guest blogger, Jurgen Gravestein, who delivers a superb argument for why every UX designer should study Conversation Design:
Do you know… Elaine Anzaldo?
Kicking off our brand new initiative - Conversational Chronicles - we’ve got Elaine Anzaldo (Conversation Designer, Meta Reality Labs). Unfortunately, I’ve never met Elaine IRL, but I’m a big fan of the Voice This! Newsletter and podcast and a lot of the other content that Elaine puts out. I asked Elaine 20 questions and here are her answers:
It was great to get to know Elaine better through the Conversational Chronicles.
PS. If you want to take part in this initiative or write a guest blog, then send me a DM or comment on this post.

End Notes
Last week I asked a question in a poll - “What’s your thoughts on Threads?” 67% said it is the Twitter killer, 22% said it was nothing special and 11% didn’t seem to care much for Threads at all. Interestingly, we may already be seeing the honeymoon period over for Threads.
As always, if you want to add anything to the next newsletter (events/jobs etc.) then feel free to DM me on LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and you can now connect with me on Threads.
Here’s hoping you have a great week.
Yours in AI,
Martyn
