And welcome back to Own The Conversation. You may have noticed that it’s been rather quiet around here over the summer.

While I had planned on taking a breather from the newsletter for a couple of weeks, this turned out to be a prolonged break from the vast majority of content creation that I do. It gave me a real chance to:

Enjoy the time with my family during the summer vacation period
Put some energy into making sure I was focusing on the right things when I returned to the grindstone
Have some deeper reflection time on different options and directions of opportunity in my immediate future

The great thing is that I am back with this newsletter. As per usual, we’ll be covering jobs, content to help your career and events.

So anyway, let’s get on with things.

It’s definitely been a very quiet summer when it comes to jobs and hiring. Not only have there been no featured jobs posted on Bot Jobs by our customers, but job opportunities have definitely taken a big drop in general.

However, I am pleased to say that I am seeing green shots with opportunities coming back out after the summer break. So watch this space, and the job board for opportunities-a-plenty.

Three months ago, I wrote the blog "Embracing Change: Staying Relevant in the Rapidly Evolving Field of Conversational AI”. I was honoured and very grateful to find out that it had been picked by the Women In Voice #bookclub as one of their choices of reads. And thanks for all the lovely feedback. So there we go for the first post-Summer newsletter. Although, if you’re currently in the UK, then it may feel like summer isn’t over just yet, with temperatures hitting above 30°C (85°F) for 6-days in a row - an actual heatwave after a very wet summer. Those kinds of temperatures are unheard of in the UK, especially at this time of the year. And we’re not designed for that here - our houses are designed to keep heat in!!

However, the last two weeks have been crazy busy. I was expecting it to pick up slightly this week, but a week earlier and so much going on. There’s definitely been an increase in interest in businesses starting their Conversational AI journey, which is just fantastic for all of us :)
