It was lovely to see some of you at the London Conversation Designer Meetup.

Lorraine Burrel has really taken the reins in organising this meetup. And it was wonderful to catch up, face to face, with some familiar and some new connections. I’m still not sure what distracted me so much to be the only person not looking at the camera here…

I’m sure that there are lots of other meetups going on all over the world, that we don’t know about. So let’s get those relationship-building opportunities amplified through my Big List of Conversational AI events. This is meant to be for crowdsourcing the definitive list of events in our industry, so please do add anything that you know of.

From a recruitment perspective, across the tech sector, we are seeing the green shoots of hiring again and this is reflected in the growing number of opportunities being added to Bot Jobs.

It would be remiss of me not to mention the events of the last week in Israel. Many of us have friends and colleagues based there, in fact, there are also plenty of newsletter subscribers there as well. I’m sure we would all agree that the hideous, barbaric actions that we saw, perpetrated by terrorists should not have a place within humanity at all. There is no justification for terror, there is no excuse. There is also no justification for those around the world who are celebrating this brutality, this human tragedy. So, I want my colleagues, friends and readers in Israel to know that my thoughts and prayers have been with you this week.
