Own The Conversation - Issue 78
Bot Jobs hits a major milestone, conversational AI jobs, career advice and events for you.
Colleagues,
I love that last week’s edition headlined with a picture of Sam Altman at the helm of OpenAI’s DevDay. And now a week later, everybody is talking about his ousting as CEO. I’m sure we’ll find out what happened soon enough and get some transparency on the language used in the statement from the OpenAI board.
However, for me, this highlights a few things:
In our industry news, events and changes happen at an unprecedented pace and sometimes it’s tough and even overwhelming to keep up
There are too many commentators when it comes to the Conversational AI and Generative AI industries. The launch of ChatGPT almost a year ago, produced a tsunami of psuedo-experts who, all of sudden, know everything about AI, running billion-dollar businesses and everything in between.
Even for the most successful employees at the biggest companies, thinking about the next step in your career is always important
Every company needs to ensure they are succession planning and pipelining for future talent, as you never quite know when you might need to recruit. Planning and pipelining ensures proactivity as recruiters, rather than starting a reactive recruitment process on the back foot.
Also, for those of you who have a keen interest in Conversational AI in HR and Recruitment, specifically, I have launched a new newsletter called H.A.I.R. - AI in HR (get it?). It’s also deliciously ironic, seeing as hair isn’t something I would usually talk about… (IYKYK).

So anyway, let’s get on with things.
If you think your connections would benefit from subscribing to this newsletter, feel free to share it.
And if you are coming here off the back of a social share, or stumbled across it accidentally and think it’s something you need to be subscribed to (why wouldn’t you!?!) then feel free to subscribe here:
So, without further ado, let's dive in and Own The Conversation!
To another great week ahead,
Martyn
Jobs
Before we get onto jobs themselves, I just want to announce a really important milestone for Bot Jobs. As we come up to the three year anniversary of when I went live with the job board, it was great to see it reach 20,000 applications this week. So, I just want to think you for all your continued support.
Jobs are definitely seeing a bounce back. 30 jobs added this week, alone.
There are now three ways that I help connect job seekers to opportunities, and employers to Conversational AI professionals:
Bot Jobs… The original and largest job board dedicated to Conversational AI roles, globally. Register for job alerts and get the latest jobs straight into your inbox daily or weekly. Remember, readers of this newsletter get their first posting for free using “FIRST1FREE”.
Bot Jobs Talent Pool… Employers, by getting access to the Talent Pool, can get direct access to candidates without the hassle of advertising and screening applications. If you’re in the market for a new role, or even a conversation, then make sure your profile is up to date and that you turn on the “Display my profile to employers” option on your profile.
Bot Jobs Freelancers… As a freelancer, by joining us, you can not only showcase your skills with your free portfolio builder but also connect with businesses that value your expertise.
As a business member, you get to tap into a pool of talented freelancers ready to bring their unique perspectives to your projects. Plus, leave the hassles of administrative tasks to us - we'll handle the systems, processes, and payments, letting you focus on what you do best: creating and innovating.
Latest Blogs and Content
In our latest blog, discover how to effectively pitch - whether that be for a project as a freelancer/contractor, to get authorisation for an internal project or maybe even pitching for investment. Read on, engage, and stay ahead of the game.
If you fancy writing a guest blog or there’s a certain question or topic you want me to cover, then feel free to get in touch.
